Your research data and imagery belong to you. We do not sell datasets to brokers or track users across applications.

We treat your imagery with the same rigor you apply to your research. Our architecture is "Local-First" to ensure privacy in the field.

• On-Device Processing: Core computer vision measurements (leaf area, chlorophyll index, and object counting) are processed locally. Your CPU does the work; your data stays home.
• Local Storage: Photos remain in your device's secure gallery. We do not automatically ingest your photos into our cloud unless you explicitly enable synchronization.
• Export Ownership: Generated datasets (CSV/PDF) are saved directly to your local file system. You maintain total control over the data lifecycle.

📍 Geographic Context

Precise location data is essential for modern agrifood quality control, but it is always under your control.

• Research Mapping GPS coordinates are used only to geotag plant measurements for plot mapping.
• Zero Background Tracking We do not monitor your movements. Location access is active only during the measurement process.

📊 Analytics & Stability

To ensure Petiole remains stable across the 10,000+ Android device variations used in global agriculture, we use Google Firebase for technical telemetry.

• We Monitor Crash reports, image processing latency, and OS compatibility.
• We Ignore Personal names, specific crop visual content, and advertising IDs.

📱 Android System Permissions

As a scientific tool, Petiole requires specific system access to perform computer vision tasks:

• Camera: Required for the computer vision engine to detect leaf margins and morphology.
• Storage: Required to save exported CSV datasets and processed calibration files.
• Location: Used only to add geographic metadata to your plant health records.
• Notifications: Provides status updates for high-volume data exports.
